Punting Cambridge – Terms & Conditions

 

Payment

Payment is taken in GBP.  We request a 30% non-refundable deposit, that may include the price of extras such as drinks and catering, or payment in full in order to confirm a booking. Most payments are expected to be taken online through PayPal or with a credit or debit card, however, if necessary payment by cheque or bank transfer can also be arranged.  On the riverside we also accept cash payments.

 

Bookings

All bookings are subject to availability and are worked through on a first come, first served basis.  E-tickets are therefore applicable to the next available tour.  Tours leave every 15-45 minutes depending on the season and on demand and it is important to note that it may be necessary to wait an hour or more before the next available tour departs.

Punting Cambridge also reserves the right to withdraw any product, package or service at any given time. Should this effect an advance booking, the client with be given the opportunity to transfer their booking onto another package or another experience for the same or higher value. Should the client decide that no other option is suitable they will be able to request a full refund.

 

Access

Due to the nature of punting and the antiquated facilities available on the Cam, it may not always be possible to accommodate the needs of disabled clients.  We will, however, do everything in our power to limit such occurrences, so please contact us to discuss your requirements, in advance, so that we may be able to look at the options and potentially make provision for you.

 

Cancelations

E tickets are valid from 11am to 4 pm for the duration of the season in which they have been purchased.  They are single use, non-refundable and will be rejected if they have expired.  The season runs from April until September.

For Private tours cancelled 48 hours or more in advanced, the depose will be forfeited but no further payment will be expected.  If the tour has been paid for in advance, the client will be given a 70% refund and Punting Cambridge will retain the equivalent value of the 30% deposit. Alternatively, a booking can be moved free of charge unless cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will not be refunded and alterations to the departure time and date will be subject to a £15 fee.

Extras such as drinks and catering may be cancelled within 14 days of booking and a 90% refund will be extended.  After this period of time has passed they are considered to be non-refundable or exchangeable.

Walking tours, scavenger hunts, wine tasting and cocktail making are eligible for cancelation and a 90% refund within one month of the original booking.  After this time they will be non-refundable.

 

Late Arrival

As the time and date of departure for a private tour are agreed in advance, a late arrival will result in a foreshortened tour. If you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to reschedule your booking for a later date.

 

Non-Appearance

If you do not attend an appointed tour and are unable to advise Punting Cambridge in advance of the change in your plans, any refund or possibility to reschedule are forfeited.

 

Bad Weather

If we cancel a tour due to inclement weather, you will be entitled to a full refund of the cost of your tour.  We regret that under such circumstances, it will be too late for us to offer any kind of refund for drinks or catering but we would be happy for you to collect these items in order to enjoy them in a more comfortable setting.

Should you choose to cancel a tour due to the weather the standard cancellation terms as listed above will apply.

 

Delivery

An online booking confirmation constitutes your ‘ticket’, you will be requested to provide a printout or to show the booking confirmation on a smartphone device as proof of purchase when you reach our check in desk. Should you have chosen to arrange payment in an alternative fashion, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you.  It is not our general policy to send confirmations by post, if this is required we request that you specify this when you make your booking.

 

Lost tickets or confirmations can be reissued ahead of a tour if you make contact with us.
